Nystagmus Spectacle with Bajonet interlocking and battery grip by Dr. Blessing
Modern vestibular diagnostics require a high degree of precision when looking for spontaneous or provoked nystagmus. In many cases, the only way of making a correct diagnosis was to perform a technically complex electronystagmography (ENG). The new nystagmus glasses by Dr. Blessing represent a user-friendly alternative. With these new goggles, nystagmus intensity and amplitude achieve 80% – 99% of ENG values. Dr. Blessing’s new Nystagmus Goggles are illuminated indirectly so as to not trigger light reflexes that could have the undesired, nystagmus-inhibiting effect of visual fixation in the patient. As shielding of the light bulbs means that light does not fall directly onto the patient’s eyes, no PURKINJE vein image occurs, the movement of which could trigger arbitrary “illuminated goggles nystagmus”. As such, we avoid false positive nystagmus results. The actual examination using these goggles takes place in a dark or a heavily dimmed room. The illumination of the inside of the goggles causes the patient to lose visual contact with his/her surroundings (preventing nystagmus-inhibiting visual fixation). At the same time, it is especially easy to observe the patient’s brightly illuminated eyes using magnifying lenses. This means it is often possible to detect immediately, just by looking at the patient, pathological nystagmus processes that would be impossible or difficult to detect, even when looking sideways.
Connection wire DEHAG Type 7.23.06
In order to provide the Nystagmus Spectacle with power, you can use the connection wire Type 7.23.06 to connect it with the bajonet connection. After that it can be connected with the DEHAG-Regulating transformer or with the DEHAG-Battery container instead of using the battery hold.
Bajonet wire Type 7.23.05
The bajonet wire Type 7.23.05 connects the Nystagmus Spectacle with the battery hold and thus allows a mobile and flexible working independent of the power supply. In this combination it is especially ideal for examinations on swivel-chairs.
Clip-headband Type 5.21.08
The clip headband lets you fit the nystagmus spectacles securely in front of the patient’s eyes. This in turn makes it easy to look for provoked nystagmus, e.g. by shaking the patient’s head or by performing swivel-chair or postural examinations. Slightly squeeze the clip headband to remove it from the slots of the nystagmus spectacles.
Replacement Cover Type 57.20.02
The cover ensures the shielding of the light bulb and guarantee an indirect illumination of the Nystagmus Spectacle.
Replacement Lamp Type 507
The Nystagmus Spectacle Type 723 can be operated with a 4 Volt; 0.23 Ampere; 1 Watt replacement lamp. (Thread diameter: 3.5 x 0.35mm). download: prospectus Nystagmus Spectacles by Dr. Blessing (PDF file 1,4 MB)
